Chair Report: November 8th Meeting Review
ARPA Funding Declined, SHPO Agreement Revised and Appointments/Reappointments Approved.

Good Morning, and a peaceful Veterans Day Friday neighbors! From the Council Chair, providing a review of the Tuesday, November 8th regular meeting. But first, please take a moment to reflect on a family member, friend or loved one who has served and show gratitude to those who have made sacrifices in service to our country if you happen to see them today.
First, the Town Council approved unanimously revisions to an application through SHPO (State Historic Preservation Office) for restoration, repairs and building and ADA ramp for the Old Tolland County Jail and Museum. The town was awarded $20,000 for consulting services towards an architectural plan. The documentation now includes Town Manager Brian Foley’s name on the agreement, as the application was submitted prior to their hire date.
The second item of business is a consideration of a resolution approving the ARPA subcommittees recommendation for a Fire Rescue truck not to exceed $1,000,000. Town Manager Brian Foley provided an update that based on a report commissioned for the town regarding the appropriate amount of public safety vehicles that Tolland was at or above the necessary vehicles and would be reviewed thoroughly going forward with the Capital Improvement 5-year plan. As a result of this information, they recommended the Town Council not approve the use of these funds. The Town Council voted unanimously to decline use of these funds towards the fire rescue truck and will consider other projects on the ARPA subcommittee’s docket at a future meeting.
