"I am proud that we were able to lower taxes for the residents of Ashford this year," she said. "This is a tough time for families and we need a representative who will listen to the residents of our district and fight for the issues that matte. It’s time to restore accountability and elect someone willing to work for us."

She added, "I am committed to getting our budget under control, protecting municipal aid, and stepping up to the plate on local issues. Whether it be crumbling foundations, bringing good jobs to our district, working for property tax reform, or protecting our environment, I’ll go to bat for our towns.

”We need someone who will actually fight for our interests in Hartford and wants to provide meaningful solutions to the problems we face," said Steven Jones, Chairman of the Tolland Democratic Town Committee.“We need a representative with Susan's proven record of accomplishment and service at the local, regional and state levels to work for us."

Sam Belsito, R-Tolland, currently represents the 53rd District.
