Tolland Garden Paths Annual Harvest Gathering

Tolland Garden Paths garden club invites all interested individuals to their 3rd annual Harvest Gathering.  This event will mark the end of another gardening season with a potluck lunch and presentation.

Susan N. Munger, author of Common to this Country: Botanical Discoveries of Lewis & Clark, will speak on the native plants that were collected for Thomas Jefferson by Lewis & Clark during their famous expedition of 1804 to 1806.  Many of these plants were first discovered on the expedition and today thrive as cultivars and natives in our gardens.  Her research for the book included studying the original pressed specimens that are still found in the Lewis & Clark Herbarium at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia.

Guests are invited to arrive at the Lodge at 12:30.  Ms. Munger will speak at 2:00 p.m. and the afternoon will end with dessert and coffee. The Harvest Gathering offers a chance to join with old and new friends, enjoy a variety of good foods and share this year's gardening experiences.
