Final Respects Paid to Fallen State Trooper
Trooper First Class Kevin Miller, assigned to Troop C in Tolland, was killed while on duty on March 29.
TOLLAND/EAST HARTFORD, CT — Connecticut state troopers and members of the broader law enforcement community paid their final respects to Trooper First Class Kevin Miller on Friday.
Miller, a 19-year veteran of the force who was set to retire in five months, was killed while on duty a week ago Thursday when his cruiser collided with a tractor-trailer on the eastbound side of Interstate-84.
Miller lived in Tolland and was active in the community.

Friday began at about 8 a.m. with state police assembling at the Troop C barracks in Tolland. Troopers paid tribute to Miller in front of a memorial that had been set up and then lined up for a motorcade to Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field, where a funeral service took place.
On Thursday residents of the Troop C coverage area lined overpasses to pay tribute to Miller as he was brought from a funeral home in Stafford, to the barracks and then to Rentschler for a wake. Police from across the state paid their respects at the calling hours.

The East Hartford Fire Department displayed a large American flag at the stadium.
Jonny Castro, a Philadelphia police officer and forensic composite artist, made a portrait of Miller, which was on display on the state police Facebook page.
