Tolland resident Grant Marsden has been named a U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad semifinalist, according to East Catholic High School, where Marsden is currently a junior.
According to the American Chemical Society website, a three-part exam will be given to 1,000 students, nationwide. The top 20 scorers participate in a two-week study camp to prepare for the International Chemistry Olympiad. Only four of the top 20 students will compete in the international competition.
