Parents across Connecticut: Sign up for this exciting new UConn initiative and research participant contact database

Are you and your child or children interested in becoming involved in research? Are you looking for fun and interesting activities to try with your children? Are you a parent expecting a child or with a child younger than 18 years, either typically or atypically developing?

If so, sign your family up for UCONN K.I.D.S. (Kids in Developmental Science), a new UConn initiative and research participant contact database!  UCONN K.I.D.S. is a group of child research labs at the University of Connecticut, spanning UConn’s Psychology, Linguistics, Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences and Human Development & Family Studies departments.  Our labs vary in research focus and discipline and we maintain a research participant contact database for our study participants.  We are currently recruiting children of all ages and backgrounds for a wide range of studies.  Cognitive development, hearing loss, peer relations and speech/language comprehension are just a few among the many research topics studied by UCONN K.I.D.S.

Our research is carried out at our Storrs campus and at our Waterbury campus.  Our research is also carried out off-site, in daycares, elementary, middle or high schools.  You may even see a letter from us in your child’s cubby or schoolbag!

What Does Participation Mean?

Joining UCONN K.I.D.S. allows us to contact you (via mail, email or phone) about particular studies that your child or children are eligible for.  Compensation may be offered to parents and children for particular research studies.  Additionally, free parking is available for most study participants, at both the UConn Storrs and Waterbury campuses.
