TOLLAND, CT — A new scam has been circulating that involves callers pretending to be law enforcement officers, according to municipal officials.

Tolland officials said Thursday that state police are aware a recent phone scam involving jury duty. Residents have been getting calls from a "sergeant with the Tolland Police Department" regarding "an arrest warrant for missing jury duty."

"This is a scam and is not real," town officials said. The scammers are attempting to use fear to extract personal information, officials said.
