Kristin Carr Signs Letter of Intent with College of St. Rose

The Tolland High senior will play on the college's soccer team in the fall.

Tolland senior Kristin Carr signed a letter of intent to play on the College of St. Rose soccer team on Thursday afternoon.

Tolland High Athletic Director Patrick Cox said that the athletic department is extremely proud of Carr's accomplishment.

"I couldn't be happier. She's an unbelievable representative of the athletic program, and we wish her all the luck moving forward," he said.

Carr's parents, coaches, teammates and friends showed their support at the afternoon signing.

"It's been a dream come true," said Carr's mother, Denise.

Kristin thanked the entire high school community for helping her achieve her dream of playing at the collegiate level.

"I just want to give a big thanks to all of them. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be playing on this team."

She added that she is eager to test her skills against a wider pool of talented players.

"I'm glad I have the opportunity to play with soccer players across the country," Carr said.

During her varsity career, Carr scored 43 goals and had 14 assists, according to the THS girls soccer team website.
