TOLLAND, CT — Officials in Tolland are considering a resolution to allow some agricultural activity on a portion of the Campbell Farm property.

Campbell Farm is an open space preserve at 215 Hunter Road. That is adjacent to – and not a part of – the Campbell Conservation Area.

The Tolland Town Council has scheduled a public hearing via video conference for 7 p.m. on July 28 to gather comments on the resolution.

The Tolland Agriculture Commission issued a request for proposals in April. In a handwritten submission, the Yurgels outlined short-term uses as barley and rye production. Long-term goals include mushroom and garlic farming, plus the "organic control of evasive aquatic plants" on the property.
