Legislative Chefs Ackert, Belsito Serve Tolland Seniors Food, Updates
The state representatives also answered questions.

TOLLAND- State Representatives Tim Ackert (R-Coventry) and Sam Belsito (R-Tolland) joined seniors last week at the Tolland Senior Center for lunch and to have a conversation about the state of Connecticut.
“I enjoyed having lunch and discussing the major issues impacting seniors in the State of Connecticut,” said Rep. Ackert. “The bottom line is seniors don’t want to leave this beautiful state, but they are being forced out due to over-taxation. By reducing taxes and energy costs we can make Connecticut a more attractive place to retire.”
The representatives provided the seniors with a copy of the Acts Affecting Seniors report produced by the Office of Legislative Research. The topics in the report include acts affecting elder abuse, senior housing, insurance coverage, long-term care, prescription drugs, taxes, and other issues pertaining to seniors.

“I always have a wonderful time visiting my friends at the Tolland Senior Center,” stated Rep. Belsito. “It is important to keep our seniors notified about the new laws that will have an impact on them and their families. I will continue to work to make Connecticut a more affordable place for our seniors.”
