Man Accused Of Stealing Forms in Tolland To Buy Drugs: Warrant

TOLLAND, CT — A 20-year-old from Brookfield is accused stealing prescription forms at a Tolland medical office and then trying to purchase a narcotic nearby, state police said.

The incident dates back to last November. Peter Manesis, 20, of Brookfield, surrendered on a warrant Saturday and is due in court on Oct. 10, state police said. He has been charged with attempting to obtain a controlled substance by forging a prescription, a report indicates.

According to a warrant, Manesis was at the Med-East Medical Walk-In Center at 200 Merrow Road. He was walking in the hallway from an exam room to a rest room when he passed the dispensary area and allegedly took an unknown amount of pages from a prescription pad, according to a warrant.

He then tried to obtain Phenergan, a narcotic cough suppressant containing codeine, at the Big Y supermarket pharmacy nearby, according to a warrant.

A doctor said he was one of three men who had visited the practice and requested that drug for upper respiratory issues, but were instead prescribed antibiotics with an over-the-counter cough suppressant suggestion, according to a warrant.
