He was held on a $150,000 bond before a court date, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — A man identified in an arrest warrant as a corrections officer at Carl Robinson Correctional Institution has been charged with assault in connection with an alleged series of domestic incidents, state police said.
Angel Rivera, 37, was charged on Thursday out of the Troop C barracks in Tolland with first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree assault and disorderly conduct in connection with the case, state police said.
His bond was set at $150,000 and he was to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Friday, according to an arrest warrant.

Among the accusations are Rivera slapping the woman in the face, yanking her out of his truck and telling her to find her own ride home from an outing.
He is also accused in a warrant of throwing the woman to the ground, kicking her while she was down and also punching her. In one instance, the woman said he was hitting her, "for what felt like 10 minutes," according to an arrest warrant.
The woman said she was initially afraid to approach state police because of his status as a corrections officer, according to an arrest warrant.
A Corrections Department spokesman said the matter is being investigated and, once the investigation is complete, "an appropriate course of action will be taken."
Rivera was hired in August of 2000, the department spokesman said.
