Man Sneaks Out on Toddler, Gets Pulled Over for DUI in Tolland: Report

He was supposed to have an ignition device, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — A Tolland man is accused of leaving a young child home alone and going on a midnight drunken driving jaunt, an arrest report indicates.

He was supposed to have a sobriety ignition device in the first place, state police said.

The 35-year-old man was charged with driving under the influence, failure to use an ignition device, risk of injury to a child, first-degree reckless endangerment, improper parking, and a license violation, according to an arrest report.

At midnight on Tuesday, he was pulled over for motor vehicle violations on Hunter Road, state police said.

He failed a series of field sobriety tests and then admitted he had left a 13-month-old at home unattended, state police said.

The child was located at the home unharmed, state police said.
