TOLLAND, CT — Pairs of pigs and horses were among the animals rescued by the Tolland Animal Conrtrol division last month.

Both incidents were included in the latest Town Manager's Report.

The pig incident was on Jan. 20. Two Pot Bellied pigs were reported roaming in and out of traffic on Route 30 in the Crystal Springs area. A resident state trooper a motorist and an aminal contreol officer we were able to secure them and "keep them safe" until the owner was identified and contacted, according to the report.

On Jan. 14, two roaming horses were captured and secured on Apple Road by the local animal control officer. The owner was located and escorted home with the horses, according to a report.
