Sharing the Immigrant Experience through Photos, Words and Song

Building Bridges, a touring exhibit featuring immigrants and refugees from around the world, debuts Tuesday in Storrs. All are welcome!

Building Bridges, a touring photo-text exhibit featuring immigrants and refugees, will open to the public on Tuesday, May 31 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Storrs Congregational Church, 2 N. Eagleville Road in Mansfield. A welcome/dedication will be held at 5 p.m.

The exhibit will remain in place for public viewing through June 15. (See a complete list of times and dates below.) It seeks to challenge damaging myths and stereotypes about immigrants and refugees as a way to help prevent bullying and to encourage respect and appreciation for this diverse group of people.

In conjunction with the exhibit, a special event entitled Building Bridges, Not Borders: Celebrating World Refugee Day Through Music and Storytelling will be held at the church beginning at 2pm. June 12. It will feature multi-cultural music by the local group Zikina.
