'Shoeless' Car Theft Suspect Nabbed After Extensive Search In Tolland
Heavy police activity in Tolland Wednesday led to a car theft suspect being apprehended.

TOLLAND, CT — A suspect in a stolen car incident in Tolland was in custody Wednesday afternoon after a day full of police activity in town.
Both the Tolland Resident State Trooper's Office and state police from the Troop C barracks were looking for a man who fled a stolen motor vehicle Tuesday evening near Exit 68 on Interstate 84, authorities said.
At one point, the man was being described as possibly being barefoot. Members of the public were being told that the man should bot be approached, if seen.

The search spread to the area of Birchwood Drive Wednesday after the man was seen there on home security videos, Town Manager Brian Foley said. Foley described the man as having "an elaborate criminal history."
Police believed he had moved toward the center of town and, "out of an abundance of caution," Tolland Middle School was placed in lockdown mode, while state police searched the area, Foley said.
