TOLLAND, CT — A passed out diver left himself — and state police — in a challenging situation at a commuter lot in Tolland, an arrest report indicates.
State police recently released details of the Feb. 19 incident.
At 12:27 p.m. that day, troopers on routine patrol encountered a man slumped over the steering wheel of his car in the Exit 68 commuter lot, according to an arrest report. To make matters worse, the car was running and, though it was in park, the man's foot was pushing the accelerator all the way to the floor, according to an arrest report.

Troopers tried to wake the man up, but eventually had to break into the vehicle, according to an arrest report.

The driver, a 38-year-old from Chelmsford, MA, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, violating local parking restrictions, failure to comply with state traffic regulations, and driving under the influence.
