Statewide Manhunt Called Off After Connecticut Fugitive Found in New York State

The man was actually wanted in two states, police said.

A statewide manhunt has been called off after a Connecticut fugitive was located in New York State, police said.

State police from Connecticut announced Thursday that New York State Police from the Dover Plains barracks in New York had picked up Raymond Sprague, a man wanted after a dispute in Sharon.

Sprague, 28, fled from state police Tuesday after a disturbance in Sharon the previous night, according to police.

But he was picked up in New York for a warrant issued there, police said.

An arrest warrant for Sprague was issued by the town of Northeast Court. The charges included third-degree criminal mischief, four-degree criminal weapons possession and second-degree criminal tespass, New York state police said.

Sprague was located at a residence in the town of Amenia, NY, where he was apprehended.

Sprague was arraigned in the Town of Northeast Court and subsequently remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond, police said.

Sprague was to reappear in the Town of Northeast Court Thursday, police said.

The Connecticut arrest warrant has been lodged with the Dutchess County Jail, police said.
