Tolland Alters Delinquent Property Tax Policy

The Tolland Town Council voted Tuesday to alter its policy concerning delinquent real estate taxes, the Journal Inquirer reported.

Under the current policy, a property is not considered tax-delinquent until the owner has missed at least three payments and owe a minimum of $10,000.

The change categorizes a tax as delinquent if just one payment is missed, and carries no minimum value.

A unanimous vote passed the policy change; one council member was absent.
