Tolland Campus Notes

The Berklee College of Music has announced that Kelsey Kaplan of Tolland has earned placement on the Dean's List for the spring semester of the 2013 academic year.

To be eligible for the honor, a full-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or above; a part-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or above.

The Berklee curriculum focuses on practical career preparation for today's music industry.

The following residents were named to the Dean's List during the spring 2013 semester at Salve Regina University:

Rachel Gedansky of Tolland. Gedansky is a freshman majoring in Administration of Justice.

Aaron Isch of Tolland. Isch is a 2013 graduate majoring in Accounting.

Emily Sattler of Tolland. Sattler is a junior majoring in Nursing.

To qualify for the dean's list, full-time undergraduate students must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.6 with no grade below a B in that semester.

At Eastern Connecticut State University, 26 percent of all full-time students participate in at least one club/organization. Students who participate in clubs/organizations excel in the classroom and do better academically than students who do not participate. Students participating in clubs had an average GPA of 3.05, much higher than the 2.90 average for those students not taking part in any of the nearly 70 clubs/organizations.

Clubs/organizations planned and implemented 768 events for the 2012-13 academic year. These programs have a direct impact on the daily life of all students on Eastern's campus. The programs range from social to educational, physical to spiritual, and civic engagement programs that equally affect the community.

Sebastian Gronback, of Tolland participated in the Campus Lantern at Eastern Connecticut State University by the Spring 2013 semester.

Kevin Jacobsen, of Tolland participated in the Campus Lantern at Eastern Connecticut State University by the Spring 2013 semester.
