Tolland Council to Go Ahead With Independent Village Area Study

Town officials will be working with the same firm as Mansfiield did for Storrs center.

TOLLAND, CT — The Tolland Town Council on Tuesday agreed to move forward with an independent study of the fiscal impact of land being developed within the Tolland Village area and the request of the developer to have the town sell certain lands it owns within the area for the proposal.

The study would be performed by New York-based HR&A Advisors — the same firm Mansfield officials worked with in the development of the Storrs Center Project, municipal officials said.

The details of the study will be "further refined" over the next several weeks and, following that, the Town Council, through a public hearing, would have to appropriate "the necessary funds" to cover the cost of the study, municipal officials said.
