Tolland FD Welcomes 1st 'Career' Female Firefighter
Julia Meyer has risen through the ranks at the Tolland Fire Department to become the first female "career" member.
TOLLAND, CT — Julia Meyer this week became the first "career" female firefighter at the Tolland Fire Department.
The announcement was made Wednesday.
Meyer is no stranger to the department. She started in 2015 as an Explorer and became a volunteer in 2018.

Meyer becomes Tolland's 29th "career" public safety officer/firefighter /EMT and the first female to serve the town in the position.
