Tolland Students Chosen as National Merit Scholarship Finalists
Tolland High School students Alison Farrish and Michelle Zimmerman have advanced to the final round of the scholarship program.

Tolland students Alison Farrish and Michelle Zimmerman have been chosen as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, according to Tolland High School principal Dominique Fox.
The students were announced as two of the nation's 16,000 semi-finalists in September 2011, Fox said. Farrish and Zimmerman found out that they met the requirements to qualify as finalists in February. The final 8,400 winners will be selected in March, Fox said.
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation was founded in 1955 and has given away more than 360,000 scholarships, according to the organization's website.
