Tolland Robotics Team Receives $1,000 Grant
The robotics team, consisting of students from multiple high schools, was awarded a CL&P and Yankee Gas Award grant for the upcoming 2012 FIRST Robotics Competition Northeast Utilities FIRST Connecticut Regional.

Tolland High students, as part of the Robotics and Gadget Engineering (R.A.G.E.) team, received a $1,000 grant to prepare for the upcoming 2012 FIRST Robotics Competition Northeast Utilities FIRST Connecticut Regional, according to a press release.
Students from Rockville High School, East Hartford High School, Connecticut IB Academy and Manchester home-schooled students are also on the R.A.G.E. team.
According to the release, the grants were awarded based on team diversity, fundraising efforts, community service and how the teams have assisted other robotics teams.

Seven teams received $1,000 grants, and 17 teams were given $500 grants.
The 2012 Connecticut FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition takes place at Hartford's Convention Center from March 29-31.
