TOLLAND, CT — Tolland is going with an interim town manager while it looks for a permanent replacement for Michael Rosen.

Rosen resigned from his position a week ago and will be moving to Norwood, MA, to take a similar position.

His last day in Tolland is slated for Aug. 5.

In a letter to Tolland residents, Rosen said, "This was a career opportunity for me that I could not pass up."

He added, "I have cherished the time and experience I have had serving in my position in Tolland."

An advertisement for an interim town manager was posted Monday. Tolland officials are targeting a retired or "in-transition" city or town manager. The job is a "temporary assignment as the Tolland Town Council recruits a full-time permanent Town Manager."

Tolland has population of 14,618 with council-manager form of government.

The terms of the position are negotiable, according to the posting.
