Tolland Village Area Subject of September Meeting

Another meeting on the Tolland Village area has been scheduled.

TOLLAND, CT — Town officials are keeping the dialogue alive regarding the Tolland Village area of town.

The Town Council has scheduled a "special public workshop" for Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Fire Training Center, 191 Merrow Road.

The meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m.

Hunden Strategic Partners, the a consultancy firm retained by the council, will present findings on the Tolland Village Area and answer questions, town officials said. Town officials last month released the consultant's report, "Tolland Village Area Highest and Best Use Market Analysis."

No active development proposals are currently on file for the village area, but, according to a statement released by the council, "It is important that the community continues discussions on this key part of Town."

At one time, an extensive development that included a hotel had been proposed for the area, but was withdrawn.
