Watch: Hundreds Attend Funeral for Tolland Employee David Ridzon
Ridzon was killed last week during an accident while filling potholes. Hundreds from around the region came to pay their respects.
Friends, family, co-workers and public works employees from across the region came to Tolland by the hundreds Wednesday to pay respects to David Ridzon.
Ridzon, 50, passed away last week after being hit by a Public Works truck while filling potholes in town.
The Tolland Green was closed to traffic much of Wednesday morning to accommodate the hundreds in attendance at Ridzon’s funeral and memorial service. It re-opened around noon.

Public works employees from around the region came dressed in yellow safety vests and lined the streets.
Needham, Mass. Director of Public Works Rick Merson told Fox CT that public works employees are part of a larger group and that it was staggering to see the turnout from New England.
