Weekend Storm Could Bring Heavy Wet Snow to Farmington

There are three snow events predicted between Wednesday night and Tuesday.

Update: The forecast for the coast has changed to a possible snow or ice storm. There is uncertainty because much depends on the track of the storm, according to the NWS. Hartford county forecast remains roughly the same.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for tonight through Tuesday for northern Connecticut due to several likely snow events.

There will likely only be some snow flurries and minor showers Wednesday night into Thursday morning for most of the state, according to WTNH’s Gil Simmons.

A significant coastal storm is appears to be likely for Saturday into Saturday night. The largest threat for heavy wet snow is along the I-95 corridor, according to the National Weather Service.

Simmons predicts that Saturday’s storm will start out light and become steadier and heavier during the afternoon and evening with larger accumulations for the central and southern part of the state.

WFSB’s Scot Haney said there is a chance the weekend storm will miss the state completely, but as time goes on that is looking like less of a possibility. The NWS warns that the storm could bring either mainly rain or snow depending on its path in the coming days.

For next week there is a possibility of accumulating snow Monday into Tuesday, according to the NWS.
