3 Arrested On Stolen Vehicle Charges At Trumbull Mall: Police
The three men were arrested as they exited the mall and tried to elude police officers nearby, according to police.

TRUMBULL, CT — Three New Haven men were arrested Saturday as they exited the Trumbull Mall and tried to elude police officers nearby, according to police.
In a news release, Police Lt. Brian Weir said officers spotted the three men walking toward a stolen vehicle around 5:30 p.m.
When the men noticed the officers, they immediately started walking back toward the mall. As the officers approached the men, Keisean Chavis, 21, of New Haven, threw the keys to the stolen car on the sidewalk, Weir said.

Trumbull police found an Acura ILX, which had been reported stolen Friday in New Haven, parked at the mall.
According to Weir, all three men admitted they came to the mall in the stolen vehicle. Chavis, who was found to have a large pocketknife in his possession, also told police he drove the car to the mall.

Giovanni Abreu, 19, of New Haven, who Weir noted is currently on adult probation, was found to have several individualized glassine bags of crack cocaine in his possession.
Chavis, Abreu and Isaiah Johnson, 20, of New Haven, were each charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Chavis was additionally charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, and Abreu was additionally charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
All three men were held on a $5,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court later this month.
