3 Lord And Taylor Shoplifters Arrested: Trumbull PD

Apparently Lord and Taylor was a hot spot for shoplifting during the holiday season.

TRUMBULL, CT — Police arrested three people during three separate shoplifting attempts at the Lord and Taylor store days before Christmas.

The first shoplifting arrest came on Dec. 21 around 6 p.m. Loss prevention caught a woman who exited the store without paying for $597 worth of merchandise, police said. She tried to cover sensor tags with tin foil and also had a screwdriver.

Sachana Parrish, 34, of Manchester was charged with fifth-degree larceny and possession of a shoplifting device.

Police made another arrest on Dec. 23. Matthew Cohen, 32, of Hamden stuffed two suits, jeans, a polo and pants in his own pants and tried to exit the store without paying, police said.

He was caught with the $1,038 worth of stolen merchandise and was charged with fourth-degree larceny.

The last arrest came on Christmas Eve. Kelly Smith, 49, of Bridgeport tried to steal a sweater from the store and struck a loss prevention officer twice in the chest, police said. She was apprehended by loss prevention and held until police arrived. She was charged with third-degree assault, sixth-degree larceny and second-degree breach of peace.
