Q. What's your goal?

A. My goal is for [young athletes] to avoid making the same mistakes I made. I was strong but I never had carryover to the football field. We try to focus on their whole body.

Q. How did you start off?

A. I've always trained ... others in my basement. I'm certified through the National Strength Conditioning Association. It's one of the most challenging certifications to get. You need a college degree.

Q. What does Beast Training do for athletes?

A. [My son, a client], is stronger. Intellectually he knows he's stronger. It's helped contribute to his confidence on the field. We push [athletes] out of the comfort zone. We vary it up. We try to keep a low trainer-to-athlete ratio.

Q. Where do you see the company going?

A. I want everyone who comes in here to reach their goals. We're still working to build the brand a little bit. I want to teach young athletes how to be young men.

Q. Have any of your clients gone to great physical fitness achievements?

A. I've competed in power-lifting. We have two guys that do the Strong Man competition. Some of our guys do obstacle racing.
