Apple Store Set To Close At Trumbull Mall, Company Says

The technology giant has confirmed the Trumbull store is one of three Apple stores set to close at a future date.

TRUMBULL, CT — Apple announced Thursday its store at the Trumbull Mall is one of three locations set to close at a future date.

In a statement sent to Patch, the technology giant confirmed the Trumbull store, in addition to two other stores in California and Maryland, will be closing.

"At Apple, we are constantly striving to deliver exceptional service and great experiences for our customers," the statement sent by Apple reads. "As we continue investing to expand and enhance our retail stores and offerings worldwide, we remain deliberate about evaluating our existing locations to ensure that we can meet our customers' needs in the best way. Following the departure of several retailers and declining conditions at Trumbull Mall, the Shops at North County, and Towson Town Center, we've made the difficult decision to close our stores at these locations."

In a statement posted to the town website Thursday evening, First Selectman Vicki Tesoro said the town was "deeply disappointed" by Apple's decision to leave the Trumbull Mall.

"The region has come to depend on the store for technology services and for employment," Tesoro's statement reads. "This closure leaves a major gap in services for customers. We will be reaching out to Apple to ask them to reconsider closure of the Trumbull location."

Tesoro also noted Trumbull customers can "express their disappointment in the closure directly to Apple" at 408-996-1010 and request that they reconsider their decision.

According to the mall's directory, the Trumbull Apple store is located on the upper level of the mall.

The Trumbull store's current hours are listed as Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition to the Trumbull location, Apple currently operates six other Connecticut stores in Danbury, Norwalk, Greenwich, New Haven, Farmington and South Windsor.

In 2020, Apple closed its store at the Stamford Town Center mall just before opening its store at the SoNo Collection mall in Norwalk.
