B'nai Torah Congregants to be honored by Jewish Senior Services
The awards will be presented at Jewish Senior Services' Women's Auxiliary Fall Gala on Wednesday, October 21, at The Italian Center in Stamf
Jewish Senior Services’ will honor three individuals who have made outstanding contributions to our community. Anita and Harold Rosnick of Easton are the 2015 recipients of the Arthur and Gladys Lunin Humanitarian Award recognizing outstanding public and community service as exemplified by the good works of Arthur and Gladys Lunin. In addition, Sandy Young of Fairfield will receive the Louis Lotstein Award for Distinguished Service which recognizes devoted long term service to Jewish Senior Services as demonstrated by the late Mr. Lotstein. The awards will be presented at Jewish Senior Services’ Women’s Auxiliary Fall Gala on Wednesday, October 21, at The Italian Center in Stamford. The evening will also include a dinner, an auction, and lively entertainment by The 3 Painters.
Harold is the senior partner of Miller, Rosnick, D’Amico, August & Butler, P.C. He is a member of the Bridgeport Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, American Bar Association and AAJ (the former American Trial Lawyers Association). He is on the board of directors of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and has been selected by Connecticut Magazine as one of the “Top Attorneys in Connecticut” from 2010 to 2015.
Actively involved in the Jewish Federation and the former Jewish Community Center (JCCS) for over 30 years, Harold twice chaired the Board of Directors. He is currently on the boards of Jewish Senior Services and the Jewish Community Foundation, and is a former board member of Jewish Family Services. Harold is a JCCS Gala Honoree and a recipient of the Jeffrey L. Gross Award for Exceptional Community Service.

Anita was a longtime member of the JCCS. She was a trustee and former co-president of Congregation B’nai Torah in Trumbull, a Lion of Judah, and a medical driver for Jewish Family Services. Anita is a Jewish Family Service honoree and recipient of Congregation B’nai Torah’s Muriel Frankel Award.
The Rosnicks are active members of AIPAC and Congregation B’nai Torah, honored in 2011 with the Chai Award in recognition of a lifetime of synagogue and community service. Most recently, they have devoted considerable time and resources towards the realization and construction of the Chick and Tillie Rosnick Fitness Center on the future Jewish Senior Services’ campus on Park Avenue.

This year’s Lotstein Award recipient is Sandy Young, whose outstanding devotion, leadership and volunteer work for almost 15 years at Jewish Senior Services truly deserves recognition. She has served as President of the Women’s Auxiliary and has remained extremely involved as a member of the Board of Directors. Sandy also serves on the Jewish Senior Services Board of Directors.
