It was a Dark Night last evening in Colorado. The horrific actions by the deranged young man who showed up at a movie theatre and proceeded to shoot masses of innocent people was the terrible report that dominated the news that most of us woke up to today. Events like this always lead us to ask how could this happen? How could an individual, so obviously disturbed, amass such amount of weapons, ammunition and equipment without somebody noticing or raising concerns?
The "Dark Knight" behind all this is Satan himself who is the instigator of evil in the world. There is a "dark side" to all of us that is called "sin" and this is another glaring example of what happens when it goes unchecked. Whether you agree or not with my theological presuppositions--remember in prayer the victims and their families. Pray also for our Nation's response to this and for all of our peace officers who daily stand guard as part of the "thin blue line" that protects us and has to respond when incidents such as this occurs.
