Himes Opens Bridgeport Campaign Headaquarters

Representative Jim Himes hosted a gathering for Democrats across the 4th Congressional district to open a campaign headquarters in Bridgeport this evening.

Himes welcomed everyone to a space crowded by more than 50 people, introduced several candidates running for state offices then made a short - but animated - speech.  

He noted that the stakes have been raised by the number of "radical candidates" running for congress across the country.

He asked that we recall President Kennedy's "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country," and added that that must be the spirit of the upcoming election.  We must appeal to our better angels even if the other side acts with a different spirit.
