Trumbull High Hosts Model UN Conference This Weekend!

Trumbull's Model UN Club to host conference on Saturday, May 12th.

On Saturday, May 12th, members of Trumbull High School's Model United Nations team will host an all-day student-run conference at the high school.  There are eighty students from eight other schools across the region attending the conference.

The Trumbull Model United Nations Invitational (TMUNI) will begin at 8:30am with registration in the lobby.  The opening ceremonies will kick off at 9:00am with a keynote address from John Sakakini, the founder of Trumbull's Model UN club and a 2005 graduate of the school.  After the opening ceremonies, the students will be dispersed into two committee rooms.  The Human Rights Council, composed of sixty students, will be debating the issue of Human Trafficking around the world while the United Nations Security Council, composed of twenty varsity-level delegates, will debate the issue of Nuclear Proliferation in Open Water Territories.

The conference will conclude at 4:30pm with closing ceremonies in the Auditorium.  All are welcome to come watch diplomacy in action.  Please contact Katie Boland, advisor to the Model UN club, at bolandk@trumbullps.org for more information.
