Burglary, Shoplifting Suspects Arrested
Homeless man charged in burglary early Sunday, while alleged shoplifters struck the Westfield Trumbull Mall, which had its grand re-opening over the weekend.
The following arrest information was supplied by the Trumbull Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.
A man who claims to be homeless was arrested in connection with a second burglary at the gas station at 2775 Nichols Ave. early Sunday.
Luis Rafael Nieves, 48, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics, third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and third-degree larceny.

Deputy Chief Michael Harry, police spokesman, said they believe Nieves may also have been involved in a burglary there last weekend. Cigarettes were taken in both incidents, but no cash, police said. The burglars were taped on closed circuit television.
Shortly after the weekend's burglary, Nieves was arrested walking nearby.

"[An officer] saw one he recognized from the video," Harry said. "[The cigarettes] were recovered and so was the suspect."
But police are not sure if Nieves was one of the masked, gloved men who broke into on Monroe Turnpike a weekend earlier.
"We don't know that that's him," Harry said.
Nieves was held in lieu of $25,000 bond.
Meanwhile, the 's grand reopening was festive for the Holidays with a few grinches.
Charged with larceny and possession of shoplifting devices were Wayne Michael Reid, 36, of Poplar Street, and Janet Pereira, 42, of Chopsey Hill Road, both of Bridgeport. Pereira's bond was set at $1,000.
Reid was also charged with risk of injury to a minor.
Also arrested at the mall was Armand S. Aguilar, 22, of New York, on a charge of sixth-degree larceny.
On Friday, an resident was arrested by warrant at .
Cynthia Lowell, 55, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics, possession of more than four ounces of marijuana and possession of controlled substances. She was held in lieu of $2,500 bond.
All suspects are scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court.
