Take a Hike with the Trumbull Historical Society

In this second annual hike, walkers will meet at the Commuter Lot off exit 9 on Daniels Farm Road and follow a trail along the east side of the Pequonnock River, 2.5 miles, from Park Street to Indian Ledge Park. Historical Society Board member John Lauria, local historian Sue DelBianco and members of the Pequonnock River Initiative will also be walking and pointing out natural resources vital to the area and how to protect them. Historic sites will also be visible, including the ruins of the Tait paper mill, the former reservoir dam, and the site of a World War II plane crash. The walk will be on a little more challenging trail than last year, but doable for most people.

A guide for the sights will available for $2.
