Tip-A-Cop at Marisa's Ristorante

Trumbull Police Officers to Host Annual tip-a-cop at Marisa’s Ristorante, October 21st

Trumbull police officers will host their annual Tip-A-Cop event benefitting Special Olympics at Marisa’s Ristorante on Friday, October 21st from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Marisa’s is located at 6540 Main Street, Trumbull. Dinner reservations for the evening are recommended (but not required), and may be made by calling the restaurant at 203-459-4225.

For one night, members of the Trumbull Police Department will team up with the staff at Marissa’s and work as “assistant” waiters and waitresses - greeting patrons, taking orders and serving dishes. Envelopes will be left on tables so that guests may make a free-will donation to Special Olympics at the completion of their meal. “Tips” collected will help fund year-round sports training programs and competition opportunities for sports-minded individuals with intellectual disabilities and their peers.  Donations collected at this event will stay in the region to support athletes from Trumbull and surrounding towns.

Through their participation in Special Olympics, individuals demonstrate that there are no limits to human potential or the human spirit. In Connecticut, more than 6,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities participate and more than 50 competitions are held annually.
