Fire Damages Trumbull Commercial Building

The fire is under investigation.

A portion of 30 Lindeman Drive was damaged by a blaze Thursday but firefighters prevented it from spreading, said Trumbull Center Fire Chief Ed Gratrix.

The cause is suspected to be electrical, said Deputy Fire Marshal Alex Rauso.

"Fire yesterday was significant but early detection and fire service
arrivival prevented a much larger fire," Gratrix said.  "It was reported as smoke coming from the building and fire personnel arriving reported active fire in the rear of a maintenance facility owned by RD Scinto.

Fire damage involved several work benches, storage shelving, part of
the rear wall as well as a section of the roof, according to the chief.

Water, heat and smoke damage was extensive in the first two bays while
