TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull fire officials urge town residents to clear fire hydrants of snow following a major snowstorm that impacted the state Sunday into Monday afternoon.
In a Facebook post Tuesday, the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Company asked residents to take a few minutes to locate and clear the fire hydrant closest to their home or business following this week's blizzard.
"In an emergency, firefighters rely on immediate access to water," the fire company wrote on Facebook, "a buried hydrant can delay response and put lives and property at risk."
