Former Trumbull Cop Sentenced in Teenage Sex Assault Case

Former Trumbull Police Officer William Ruscoe was sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended after 30 months after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a teen in the Police Explorers program.

Ruscoe was sentenced Friday, according to court records. He will also have 10 years of probation once he completes his prison sentence

He was a 19-year veteran of the force, according to the Trumbull Times.

Ruscoe pleaded guilty in October. He is accused of making multiple advances toward the teenage victim and sexually assaulting her after many protests.
