Herbst Wants Trumbull to Withdraw from Health District

He pointed to rising costs as the reason.

The Town of Trumbull may be withdrawing from the Monroe Health District.

First Selectman Tim Herbst is asking the Town Council to withdraw from the district after costs have soared, according to the Connecticut Post.

Ten years ago Trumbull contributed about $188,000; that cost has jumped up to more than $315,000 for the current fiscal year. Herbst estimated the town could save $80,000 by doing a health department in-house.
