Shelter In Place Lifted After Police Search In Trumbull: Town

Town officials said a shelter in place in an area of Trumbull has been lifted following a police search.

TRUMBULL, CT — A shelter in place in the area of Brittany Avenue in Trumbull was lifted Thursday afternoon following a police search of the area, according to the town.

According to the town website, Trumbull police have the person they were searching for in custody and the shelter in place has been lifted.

In a Facebook post around 1 p.m., police said the incident "has been resolved with the arrest of a wanted individual."

"This incident originated outside of Trumbull, and multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in bringing it to a safe conclusion," police said on Facebook. "We appreciate the public's patience and cooperation."

The shelter in place was first announced around 12:30 p.m., according to the town's Facebook page.

According to the town, there was a heavy police presence in the Brittany Avenue area as officers searched for the person, and residents in the area were asked to shelter in place until further notice.
