Herbst Criticizes Democrat Ticket Members

Herbst criticized one person for switching political parties and said one candidate behaved rudely at the tax collector's office.

He critisized Board of Education member Susan LaFrance for running as a Democrat after not being nominated in the fall as a Republican, according to the Trumbull Times.

He also voiced opposition against David Kayne, who is running for town constable. Kayne allegedly screamed at workers in the tax collector’s office after arriving too early to pay his bill.

Democrat first selectman candidate Vicki Tesoro said people in town were tired of character assassinations.

LaFrance said that she has been in a dispute with BOE Chairman Deborah Herbst because she doesn’t provide her with information needed to make decisions. She added that the Republican Town Committee letter about her shouldn’t have mentioned her family.
