Irene Maloney, 101, of Trumbull: Worked in FBI for 35 Years
Her FBI job took her to Mexico, Argentina and Germany.

Irene M. Maloney, age 101 of Trumbull, died on July 31, 2015. Miss Maloney was born in Bridgeport, July 30, 1914, the daughter of Sophia Sedlak and Daniel Maloney.
She graduated from Harding High School in 1931, and for several years after worked in the Inheritance Tax Division at the state capitol in Hartford. In 1941 She moved to Washington, DC where she was employed the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the next 35 years.

During her career with the bureau Miss Maloney was assigned to the American Embassies in Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Argentina: The laboratory in Washington DC., The American Embassy in Bonn, Germany, and The New York office of the bureau. While in New York Miss Maloney was a lector at the church of Our Saviour and active in church activities.
Her last assignment was to the American Embassy in Bern, Switzerland, taking part in the programs of the diplomatic chapel in Bern. Miss Maloney retired from Bern in 1976. Returned to Bridgeport, was involved in her Church’s activities, travelled extensively and volunteered at Bridgeport Hosptial for many years before moving to Trumbull.

She was a member of the Society of FBI Alumni. There are no immediate surviving relatives. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Stephens Church 6948 Main St. Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, prayers are requested for the souls of the faithful departed. Arrangements are entrusted to Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull.
