Irnee Bekech, 92 of Trumbull

Irene P. Kochiss Bekech, age 92, of Trumbull, beloved wife of George M. Bekech, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in her home, with her loving family by her side. Irene was born in Bridgeport on January 2, 1925 to the late Michael and Anna (Pjura) Kochiss and has been a life long area resident. Irene will be remembered as an “extraordinary” ordinary woman.

She was a wonderful homemaker and cook. She was always the person that everyone in the family could rely on for un-relentless help and support. Survivors in addition to her beloved husband of seventy years, include her devoted children, Michael Bekech and his wife Donna of Niantic, and Irene Harrigan and her husband Brian of Lordship, her cherished granddaughter, Keri Lynn Grant and her husband Reilly of Uncasville, 3 great-grandchildren, Reilynn, Zachariah, and Hailie, a sister, Catherine Samorajczyk of Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Irene was pre-deceased by her brothers, Michael, William and Charles Kochiss, and sisters, Evelyn Pcolka, Helen Gerak, and Mary Chmielewski. The Bekech Family would like to thank Irene’s caregivers, especially Erika Baranovicova, for their kind and loving care. Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 6th at 9:15AM in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:00AM in St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church Trumbull with the celebration of a Divine Liturgy. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 PM. Panachida will be at 2:30 PM.
