“I have known Michael Lombardo since his time as a detective in Wilton and my tenure as a Lieutenant in the Detective Bureau here in Trumbull,” Kiely said. “I know Mike will bring all great moral qualities to the Trumbull Police Department and protect the public health, safety and welfare of Trumbull’s 37,000 residents. I consider him a lifelong friend and I wish him every success in the years ahead.”
Lombardo is a big proponent of community policing, according to a town release. Community policing is a philosophy that stresses real connections between a community and its police department. He developed a citizen police academy during his time as chief in Wilton.
