Man Killed In Tree Cutting Incident In Trumbull: Police

Police said a tree cutting incident in Trumbull resulted in the death of a 66-year-old man.

TRUMBULL, CT — A man was killed in a tree cutting incident Wednesday afternoon on White Plains Road in Trumbull, according to the Trumbull Police Department.

In an email Thursday, Police Lt. Brian Falkenstein said officers and EMS were called to White Plains Road around 3:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a tree cut accident that resulted in the death of a 66-year-old man.

According to Falkenstein, police and EMS arrived at the scene minutes after receiving the initial 911 call, however the man had succumbed to injuries suffered by a large tree branch.

The man's identity has not been released by police at this time.

Falkenstein also noted the incident is still under investigation.

The incident is one of several tree-related fatalities reported in Connecticut within the past year.

Last month, a tree worker in Tolland died as a result of injuries sustained from an apparent fall from a tree truck.
