Man Pointed Gun During Trumbull Birthday Party: PD
He also allegedly assaulted his daughter at the same party, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his daughter and pointed a gun at her boyfriend while attending his granddaughter's birthday party in town, according to police.
The man's 21-year-old daughter and her boyfriend reported the incident to police Oct. 29. They told police that a birthday party was being held for female victim's 3-year-old daughter on Old Hollow Road the same night.
Jack Fernandez, 46, became angry with his daughter because he believed she didn't appreciate him paying expenses for her and that she was disrespectful to her stepmother, the victims told police.

"Fernandez punched his daughter in the face, at which point her boyfriend stood up and stepped between the father and daughter to intervene," said Lt. Doug Smith, police spokesman. "Fernandez reportedly then drew a handgun, pointed it at his daughter’s boyfriends face and threatened to shoot him."
Family members intervened and separated the parties, but Fernandez managed to strike his daughter twice more, Smith said.
